What You'll Learn:

After completing our Java(TM) for Programmers class, you will be able to develop Java(TM) applications with a sense of good design and a thorough understanding of the Java(TM) Language, its syntax and available packages, as well as a thorough understanding of Object Oriented programming concepts and strategies, such as inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation. By the end of this course you will be competent in Exception Handling, File access with Java(TM) I/O, Networking and building multi-threaded applications.

Prerequisites:

In order to complete this course, students should have at least 6 months programming experience, preferrably in an Object-Oriented language. Students without prior Object-Oriented programming experience should consider our Introduction to Java course. This is a fast-paced course that assumes an underlying understanding of common programming structures and concepts. Students without prior Object Oriented programming experience, or students who prefer a slower pace, should consider our Introduction to Java(TM) class.
