Course Overview:
Java(TM) for Programmers introduces the Java(TM)
Programming Language to the experienced programmer. This course
is a fast-paced practical introduction to the Java(TM)
Programming Language. This course thoroughly covers the core
Java(TM) Language, including exception handling, networking
and File I/O.
What You'll Learn:
After completing our Java(TM) for Programmers class,
you can expect to be able to develop Java(TM) applications
with a sense of good design and a thorough understanding of
the Java(TM) Language, its syntax and available packages,
as well as a thorough understanding of Object Oriented programming
concepts and strategies, such as inheritance, polymorphism and
encapsulation. By the end of this course you will be competent
in Exception Handling, File access with Java(TM) I/O,
Multithreading.
Prerequisites:
In order to complete this course, students should have at least
6 months programming experience, preferrably in an Object-Oriented
language. This is a fast-paced course that assumes an underlying
understanding of common programming structures and concepts.
Students without prior Object Oriented programming experience,
or students who prefer a slower pace, should consider our Introduction
to Java(TM) class.
