Course Overview:
Our JDBC course will introduce you to programming with the Java
Database Connectivity APIs. You will learn the ins and outs
of programming with JDBC as well as practical strategies for
improving portability, flexibility and performance in your database-driven
applications.
What You'll Learn:
You will learn how to use the Java Programming Language to connect
to a relational database, and to execute SQL updates and queries.
You will learn how to process Results and how to effectively
store data in objects to interact with the rest of your application.
This course will feature detailed and practical labs that will
introduce you not only to the syntax and libraries involved
in JDBC programming, but also effective means of designing data-driven
applications for maximum flexibility. We will also discuss effective
ways to make your JDBC applications database independent.
Prerequisites:
You should have a thorough understanding of Java, and have sufficient
experience programming in the language to feel comfortable with
it. You should also have some understanding of databases, and
the Structured Query Language (SQL), although more than a cursory
understanding is not required.
