Course Overview:
This course introduces the Struts Framework to the Experienced
Servlet and JSP developer. This course will introduce you to
JSP Custom Tags, the Java Standard Tag Libraries (JSTL), the
Jakarta Struts tag libraries and the Struts configuration files.
This course is filled with practical tips for implementing applications
with the Struts framework as well as real-world examples that
will help students implement their own Struts-based applications
with maximum efficiency and flexibility.
What You'll Learn:
You will gain a thorough understanding of Struts and its relation
to similar technologies, including the Java Standard Tag Library,
and Java Server Faces. You will understand the Model-View-Controller
Architecture and how Struts uses it to allow both flexible and
easily configurable applications. You will gain practical strategies
for application development with Struts, as well as an understanding
of what constitiues a well-designed Struts application. This
course will also explore internationalization of applications
with the Struts Framework.
Prerequisites:
In order to be successful in our Building Web Applications with
the Struts Framework course, students should be experienced
Java developers with a thorough understanding of Java Servlet
and JSP programming. Students who are not yet familiar with
Servlets and JSPs should consider our 5-day Building Web Applications
with Servlets, JSP and Struts course.
